Your resources should have one or two distinct purposes or functions.
When a player acquires a resource, they should know pretty well what purpose it will eventually be used for, even if they haven’t planned the exact move they’ll make.
For example, a player might gain money and know that they’re eventually going to use that money to buy stocks, because stocks are the main thing you buy with money in this game.
If a player can’t make this mental link, they’ll be unable to form strategies around acquiring and spending resources.
